Changing coffee, together.
Bay Area CoRoasters, aka CoRo, is a shared space coffee roastery, similar to a We Work space, but to power coffee roasters. Our 3,500 square foot roastery in Berkeley, CA (shown here) supports a community of more than 20 local coffee roasting companies, as well as an array of artisans and coffee enthusiasts. From commercial roasters with established reputations, roasters jump-starting new brands, and home roasters taking the next step, CoRo offers services and support to coffee professionals at every level of the industry.
We break conventional barriers, making room for indie coffee.
We remove barriers to entry and empower indie coffee by: 1) providing access to capital-intensive coffee roasting and packaging equipment; 2) delivering expert educational opportunities and technical knowledge; and 3) engaging roastery members with robust events and collaborative culture — all to establish a supportive and creative local coffee community.
We easily attract the broader community of coffee lovers to our public events and hands-on coffee roasting experiences. Just like home brewing has changed how we drink beer, hands-on coffee roasting at CoRo is changing how we enjoy coffee.
Local coffee tastes, better.
Emerging from CoRo’s collaborative roastery, our cafe is a window (literally and figuratively) onto the roastery floor.
Hyper-local coffee, for everyone.
The CoRo Coffee Room further supports a growing coffee community—it’s a place for coffee lovers to gather and enjoy coffee roasted on-site by the people on the other side of the window. We serve CoRo members’ coffee on a menu that rotates every 2 months, thereby supporting all our members and offering new experiences to the local community. These dynamic offerings are paired with foods and beverages created by other local artisans, delivering a unique community-centered culinary experience.
